BUFFALO GROVE, IL – ASAP Software has formed a partnership with Alternative Technology, Inc. (AltTech) to offer customers a wide range of software and hardware support options. ASAP and Alternative together developed a program that will leverage AltTech’s extensive knowledgebase and hands on skills of its technicians to support the products ASAP sells to its customers.
ASAP, a global software services provider and hardware reseller, will sell incident packs through its ASAPartner™ Net group. Customers will call AltTech’s certified technicians directly, who will either resolve issues or escalate them to the vendors’ technical support teams as needed. ASAPartner Net coordinates technical services for ASAP’s customers through a global network of service organizations.
AltTech will provide ASAP customers with support on numerous applications and hardware platforms. Its technicians will cover everything from office application support to assistance with integration and interoperability of products. In addition, AltTech will provide levels of support that go beyond programs offered by vendors. For example, a vendor might require a credit card number for every support call and charge additional fees for weekend support. An AltTech incident pack from ASAP will cost less than the typical vendor support line, and customers will not incur additional fees for weekend or evening calls.
“The combined expertise of Alternative’s technicians allows them to address support issues that require knowledge of a wide range of products and technology that individual vendors don’t have. This is critical if you’re talking to a customer who has network devices and software from various publishers and manufacturers. It reduces the amount of time the customer spends on the phone as well as their support costs. It also eliminates the frustration of trying to figure out which vendor has the answer,” said Harry Zoberman, senior vice president of marketing and operations at ASAP Software.
Neither ASAP nor Alternative Technology are newcomers to the computer industry. Both were founded in the early years of the technology boom; ASAP in 1984 and AltTech in 1986. Both have received industry awards and accolades. AltTech was among Inc Magazine’s Top 500 fastest growing private companies for 2001 and 2002 and a VARBusiness Top 25 Distribution Partner in 2002. It was also listed among the Denver Business Journal’s fastest growing private companies in Colorado. ASAP Software has received numerous awards for its eBusiness and asset management solutions, including the Microsoft Certified Partner Award, Microsoft Canada Impact Award, SIIA Codie Award, the Web Marketing Association’s WebAward and the Cisco Growing with Technology Award. ASAP has also been listed among InformationWeek’s Innovation 100, and its government division is among the Government Computer News Top 25 GSA Schedule 70 vendors.
